Minimum wage is the amount that you are guaranteed to be payed if you are over the age of 18. Right now minimum wage is at $7.25 an hour. And some countries have their minimum wage a lot higher. The minimum wage is usually determined by the cost of living. Many countries have a higher cost for living than the U.S and that is why they have a higher minimum wage. Many people with degrees and high educations get payed a lot more than minimum wage, but there are still a lot of people who only make minimum wage and have to support families. Many people think the minimum wage rate should be raised.
We believe that the minimum wage level should stay the same. One reason why is because if the wage level is raised, than everything else is going to be raised. For example food, and other goods are going to higher priced since the minimum wage is raised. We don’t think that anything good will come out of raising the levels. Australia has a minimum wage level of $14, and the only reason that is so is because they have a very high cost of living, and are considered one of the most expensive countries. So being said, we do not believe the minimum wage level should be changed, and if it has to be it should not be a dramatically change.
The reason we believe the wage level should be the same is because it will be worthless. Yea you will be making more money, but it is going to cost more to be able to live and sustain life. Also more businesses are going to loose some money, and then there going to have to be payed more to be able to afford to pay these people. With just one change, of the wages, there will be a lot more dramatical changes.
