Welfare is aid for people who are less fortunate and do not make enough money to support themselves and families. Welfare started in the 1930’s during the great depression, when people were struggling for money. The eligibility is determined by a lot of different factors. It is mainly determined by the gross income, family size and net income. Welfare is givin by the government. And there are many people who are against our welfare system. Many people abuse it, and make enough money to afford it.
Our goal with the Welfare system is we want to make it bullet proof. We want there to be more people that look into the people applying for welfare. There needs to be monthly background checks, checking where the person works and what they make. There are so many people who get welfare help, that there needs to be more staff being able to get the background checks and stuff like that.
The reason that we want to do this is because we don’t want the government loosing all of this money to people who are capable of supporting there families. The government is already in so much debt, it does not need to be worsened by people abusing the system and stealing money from the government.
